Watching the finder and hearing Willa talk about witches and magic is insane. I would normally just gloss it over... BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT BONES CROSSED OVER WITH SLEEPY HOLLOW??? A SHOW ABOUT ACTUAL ICHABOD CRANE IN MODERN TIMES SOLVING CRIMES INVOLVING THE REAL HEADLESS HORSEMAN? REAL MAGIC????
Magic is real in the Bones universe, and Willa is 100% valid for being superstitious during the voodoo episode.

Watching The Finder, the Bones spin off, which was made in 2011 and broadcast in 2012. It has not aged well for numerous reasons. One being a storyline in episode 8, where Walt is tracking down a pirate radio guy, using radio station equipment. They openly mock him for his 'podcast' n the guy wanting to be free of corporatism. The US marshal mocks him for sitting in a dark room, ranting n tells him to get a proper job.
Guess the show runners had little idea just how big podcasting would become.
It's odd when you see shows that were made on the cusp of the internet becoming our main form of entertainment. The ones that didn't make it to the streaming age, or just missed it.
(That being said, the show is fun, though I'm side eyeing that Willa is a 'gyspy' storyline real hard, and the way the show runners depicted the Romani)

I finished reading Tales from Earthsea yesterday !!! Now I only have The other wind (which I have already started) and a few other short stories left to finish the Earthsea Cycle and I'm so excited!
To brieflly comment each story from this book:
• The first one, The finder, is about how the school of magic in Roke was created. It was the longest one and not really my favourite. The second half of it was when it got more intersting, but still, I found it a bit boring compared to the rest.
• Darkrose and Diamond was the second one. I don't usually care about romance in books that much, so this story wasn't that interesting for me. It was cute, but romance is just not my cup of tea usually, nothing more to say about it, really.
• The third one tho, The Bones of the Earth, was definitely my favourite one just because Ogion is one of my favorite characters from Earthsea. It's about how he helped to stop the earthquake in Gont when he was young. I just love that guy so much, and it was really cool to know a bit more about his teacher and his early life.
• On the High Marsh was also pretty good. It takes place in the years when Ged was the archmage, and it was really fun to read.
• And the last one is Dragonfly, which connects the fourth and sixth book in the series. It's about a girl who wants to study magic in Roke and dresses like a man to try and get in. It actually helped me to get to know some of the Masters in Roke, which was really cool. And it really made me want to read The other wind because its ending was so interesting.
So yeah, I'm getting closer to finishing this series and I'm both excited and sad to do it. But it's really cool, and I really want to know more about the story. And so far I'm having so much fun!!

Just finished "the finder" and I'm pissed! That was such a bullshit ending.
Willa left the ends of the earth bar just to avoid her arranged marriage. So Shad got upset and hit Timo, who doesn't deserve that. I actually really liked him and was hoping the best for him.
Walter is going to jail I guess, and Isabel lost her badge. That's gonna derail her whole life!
And Leo's just putting a sale sign on a trailer and acting like it's another day

Just finished watching The Finder and wtf. What the actual fuck is that ending, im so disappointed. I loved all the other episodes, but they really failed at the last one, ngl. In general it sucks that there’s only one season, but they could at least finish it nicely

The Finder isn't the same without Saffron Burrows playing the bartender at The Ends of the Earth bar.  She was absolutely brilliant in the Bones pilot episode!
No offense to Maddie Hasson, but her jailbird character is just kind of there and Mercedes Masöhn’s police character is clearly there for sex appeal.  Everyone else is fine, I guess, but the timing and the comedy just isn't the same.  The pilot episode was loads better.  Executive meddling killed this show before it could even grow.
Thanks, network execs.  Jerks.
